  1. Love how he owned up and said he knew he’ll never be as good as Batman or nightwing but he found his own way to be just as affective it’s a pretty cool detail and growth from him imo

  2. I would have to read it for myself. Typically with Damian I could take it or leave it. He’s not as annoying of a reoccurring character as Miles Morales but he is still sort of a one trick pony in how he reacts to things.

  3. People dont understand why Damian is the one that has to be the next Batman, its NOT because he is the biological son(so is Terry).

Its because becoming Batman is the ultimate conclusion for his entire character arc and story.
Damian has ALWAYS wanted to be Batman,he has even worn a batcowl while he was still a BABY.He is the one that genuinely wants it the most.

Bruce doesnt want to be Batman,he does it cause he needs it to deal with his tragedy, eventually he wants to retire.
Nightwings entire arc was stepping out of Batmans shadow, and as stated by Tim ultimately Dick will want to move on.
Jason sometimes wants it but it comes from a VERY sick place as we saw in Battle For The Cowl.
Tim took the mantle in one universe and he became evil,he always had a coldness in him(even Nightwing said he is detached),Batman needs to be very human deep down.
Terry lacks the proper character arc to take the mantle,he just appears suddenly and becomes Batman.
While Damians character has always leading to becoming Batman.

The story of a child that was taught to kill,Batman takes him in and helps him overcome that indoctrination.
To take the mantle of a hero that is never supposed to kill is the ultimate reward

  4. Great video. Always appreciate your presentation and perspective. When I watch your work I'm positively reminded of an old quotation: "Vividness is self-selecting". When a new video pops up, I watch and consider. How cultures and languages tell stories, and imagine what defines heroes and villains matter deeply; in ways that resonant beyond what's obvious (I'm reminded of an NPR interview around 2016 with a British diplomat in which he described the US intelligence community of organizations as being like his conception of Batman, " silent guardians", " watchful protectors", "the heroes the world needs".) These imagined iconic outlines of heroic mythologies spread far and wide; often in unexpected and unpredictable ways. Deep dives into comics and their implications for how we think about ethics and reality are vital in contagiously unexpected ways. I often feel that you sit with your chosen subject for each video and give the topic of your focus the consideration it rightfully and respectfully deserves. It's good to know there are folks out there with your sensitivities to context, absurdity, and nuance. Thanks for doing what you do and seeing what you see. Keep up the good work.
